31. Jacob's Altar (Genesis 35: 1 - 3)

In the old time, people built altars as instructed by God, or to remember what God has done. Abraham built four altars. Jacob built two. From those altars, people learned what God had done. However, sometimes, those altars became just religious symbols, or were taken advantage of by people for personal gains. So, do we still need to build the altar now? If so, then what is it? Or how to build it?
